Oxymetholone – Anadrol
Anadrol, known as oxymetholone, is a potent synthetic anabolic steroid available in tablet form. This powerful oral formulated drug functions as both an anabolic and androgenic agent.
This anabolic steroid enhances nitrogen balance when calorie intake is adequate. Its effects mirror those of testosterone; however, its administration in children can lead to significant physical and sexual development impairments, resulting in severe side effects such as disfigured physical appearance and disrupted sexual function.

In clinical settings, Anadrol is primarily used to treat various forms of anemia, particularly iron deficiency anemia, acquired aplastic anemia, congenital aplastic anemia, myelofibrosis, and anemia resulting from immunosuppressive drugs. It isn’t intended as a substitute for iron, blood transfusions, or other vital nutrients but as a therapy when other treatments have failed.
This drug has also been suggested for treating weight loss in HIV patients and individuals suffering from severe osteoporosis. Nonetheless, due to its potential side effects, the prescription is cautious and infrequent.
Dosage
The dosage of Anadrol is determined by body weight, typically ranging from 1.5-2mg/kg (50-200mg weekly) for adults and children alike. Therapeutic effects may not be immediate; it can take 2-3 weeks to assess response, with potential dose adjustments required for aplastic anemia management. Anadrol is only available in tablet form and is not administered intravenously.
